Team 3077 – Zinc Iridium
Zinc Iridium (Team 3077) is the upper school robotics team for The King Christian Academy (KCA) in Callaway, MD. We compete in both the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and the VEX Robotics Competition (VRC). Since starting in 2008 with just one event and one robot, our program has grown to two robots and a dozen events during the school year. Overall this season (2012-13), Zinc Iridium has won five judged awards, was a finalist for three others and has been in the elimination rounds at almost every tournament in which we have competed. We were a member of the Winning Alliance at the Maryland State FTC Championships and have also qualified to compete in the 2013 VEX Robotics High School World Championship in Anaheim, CA. We would be honored if you would be one of our team’s sponsors.
What’s in it for me?
Sponsorship of Team 3077 – Zinc Iridium will get your company publicity. Your name and/or logo will be advertised in a multitude of ways, depending on your level of sponsorship. Your logo will be seen by other teams, judges, and spectators at competitions and in other community events in which we participate. You gain recognition for actively supporting a program that gets students interested in technology, engineering and robotics. See below for more details on sponsorship levels. The team also qualifies as a 501(c)(3) organization, and your donations are completely tax-deductible.
What would my money be used for?
Your money will be used to cover the many costs involved with running a robotics team. These include registration fees and transportation to events. (The more events we attend, of course, the more exposure for your company.) Your donation will also be used to host and participate in more robotics events, generating more exposure for your company and more engineering experience for our students.
Lastly, your generous donation will be used to purchase more parts and equipment for our robots. With a larger budget, we can build a robot that performs better for each year’s specific challenge. Parts replacement is a constant need in the robotics field, as gears strip and motors die under the stress of competition. Our robots work hard and our students work harder; your money supports them both.
Why sponsor a robotics team?
Robotics actively encourages careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields and provides students with an opportunity to practice and perfect their engineering and related skills. This year they have gained and practiced skills in programming, technical writing and illustration, robot construction and control, electrical engineering, teamwork and more. The members of Team 3077 – Zinc Iridium, are tomorrow’s engineering workforce and the formative experiences of participating in this robotics program play a vital role in inspiring them to go into the STEM professions. Your support of Team 3077 allows our team to grow, prosper, and encourage interest in robotics.
Thank you for your consideration!
